Miss Culture Worldwide Priota returns home with crown

Priota, currently the brand ambassador of Bangladesh Tourism Corporation, rose to fame by travel-blogging with her Facebook page ‘The Flag Girl.’ She has travelled over 50 countries and 64 districts of Bangladesh carrying the Bangladeshi flag. She has dedicated her life to promote the natural beauty of Bangladesh towards the whole world

Priota Farelin Iftekhar, popularly known as “The Flag Girl,” who won the title of Miss Culture Worldwide on December 16 in Harare, Zimbabwe, has recently returned to Bangladesh with her crown.

“Winning this title on our Victory Day was a huge honour for me. I can’t express that feeling in words when I held our red-green national flag in front of the world. I tried to represent my country and its culture throughout the competition as my main goal was to represent Bangladesh on the global stage,” she said during an official press conference at capital’s National Press Club on Wednesday. The press conference was organized by Sure Cell Medical (BD) Ltd.

Priota’s physician and consultant Dr Tauhida Rahman Ereen was also present during the press briefing. The event was moderated by journalist Rabeya Baby.

The first runner up of Miss Culture Worldwide 2018 was Miss Zambia and the second runner up was Miss Zimbabwe. The award for Best Personality went to Miss Russia.

This is the first solo “Miss” pageant win for a Bangladeshi, according to Priota.

Previously, on global stage model Jannatul Ferdous Peya won the title of Indian Princess jointly with another contestant in 2013.

Nibedita Saha Badhon won the title of Mrs. Style Icon and Mrs South Asia Canada 2017.
